2.0 Satellite Rights Sold for 110 Crores in an Huge Deal by Lyca

The latest buzz that is floating around since yesterday evening is the 2.0 satellite rights thats been sold to ZEE cinemas by Lyca productions for nearly 110 crores. The Tamil, Telugu, Hindi satellite rights for shankar direction Super star Rajnikanth and Akshay kumar starring 2.0 has been sold for a whopping monster price that crossed 100 crores just in satellite rights. Previous record for satellite rights for any Indian movie is Dangal starring Amir Khan which was sold for 75 crores.

Its been a tough ride for Kollywood movies last year with respect to selling movies satellite rights because of the clash between producers council and satellite tv channels. There were no fancy selling for Kollywood Tamil movies TV rights last years except for some big brand movies, but this news on 2.0 is making everyone even in the industry awestruck.

This news is not a rumor and in fact it is even confirmed by Lyca’s production head Raju Mahalingam. He also said they are in talks with Amazon prime and Netflix to sell the digital rights. Considering the grand scale of over 350 crores plus on the movie is made, it opens lot of opportunity for selling. 2.0’s teaser is expected to be released in the Tamil new year day (April 14), the talks for theatrical rights have not even started and will be expected to start after the teaser release.

After teaser release the audio launch and trailer launch are expected to be on a separate grand functions just like how the first look was held in a grand manner.Currently the director and the team is headed to US where the post productions work is going on in a brisk pace.
