Kollywood’s top-league actors Vijay and Ajith have given us some superhit movies in the past years. Let us see the box office collection of top 5 movies of each actor.

Ajith’s top 5 movies box office collection:

The first place is bagged by Vedalam. Directed by Siruthai Siva and released in 2015, this movie had TN rights collection of 36 crore, box office collection of 71 crore and share collection of 47 crore.

Second place is bagged by Aarambam, released in 2013 and directed by Vishnuvardhan. The TN rights collection is 35 crore, box office collection is 51.5 crore and share collection is 32.8 crore.

Veeram, directed by Siruthai Siva and released in 2014, occupies the third place. The TN rights collection is 31 crore, box office collection is 51 crore and share collection is 30.25 crore.

2011 release Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabhu, stands in the fourth place and the TN rights collection is 20 crore, box office collection is 48 crore and share collection is 27.5 crore.

The fifth place is bagged by Yennai Arindhaal, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and released in 2015. TN rights collection is 35 crore, box office collection is 42 crore and share collection is 24 crore.

Overall, Vedalam and Mankatha have given increased profit for distributors. Vedalam’s distributor gross profit margin is 23.4 % and that of Mankatha is 27.27 %.

2017 release Mersal is the best collected Vijay movie in terms of box office and gross revenues.The movie went past all controversies and emerged as a blockbuster. It grossed around 200 crores world wide in all countries including Telugu dubbed version. In TN it broke the years long record set by Enthiran.

2016 release Theri, directed by Atlee again stands in the second place and the TN rights collection is 44.5 crore, box office collection is 75.75 crore and share collection is 50 crore.

The third place is bagged by Thuppaki, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and released in 2012. TN rights collection is 38 crore, box office collection is 71.5 crore and share collection is 46.8 crore.

Fourth place is bagged by Kaththi, released in 2014 and directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The TN rights collection is 38.5 crore, box office collection is 67.5 crore and share collection is 44 crore.

The fifth place is bagged by Bairavaa. Directed by Bharathan and released in 2017, the TN rights collection is 47 crore, box office collection is 63.5 crore and share collection is 41.8 crore.

On the whole, Theri, Thuppaki and Kaththi have grossed much profit for distributors. Mersal was above average. The distributor gross profit margins are as follows: Theri – 10.55 %, Thuppaki – 18.80 % and Kaththi – 12.5 %.
