3 Directors introduced by Thala Ajith and their current profile
Thala Ajith has introduced many directors to Tamil film industry by acting in their debut movies. The movies have gone on to become blockbusters and established a good name for the directors in Kollywood.1. Director Charan was introduced by Thala Ajith in Kaadhal Mannan, released in 1998. It was a blockbuster and brought in laurels for the director.
He went on to direct movies like Amarkalam, Gemini, Vasool Raja, Jay Jay, Attakasam, etc. These movies were also superhits.
However, his last two movies Aasal and Aayirathil Iruvar flopped at the box office.
2. The movie Vaali, directed by S.J. Suryah and having Ajith in the lead, was the first film directed by S.J. Suryah. This movie was also a blockbuster.
Ajith’s estimation on Suryah’s talent did not go wrong. Suryah’s next movie Khushi was also a superhit.
Though his subsequent movies New and Anbe Aaruyire dealt with different concepts, they did not perform well at the box office.
Suryah’s last release Isai brought him decent reviews and collection, though it was not a super hit.
Presently he is acting as hero and villain in many movies.
3. Director A.R.Murugadoss was also introduced by Ajith. His movie Dheena was directed by debutant Murugadoss and the movie was considered a superhit after a few days of its release. He has also directed many blockbusters like Ramana, Ghajini, 7am Arivu, Thuppaki, Kaththi, etc. Mostly all of his movies have garnered profit for producer, distributors and theater owners. He also established as a pan Indian director with Hindi super hit Ghajini with Amir Khan and Telugu super hit Stalin with Chiranjeevi .
