Release of Nadigaiyar Thilagam postponed

Actress Savithri’s biopic is releasing in Tamil as Nadigaiyar Thilagam and in Telugu as Mahanati, directed by Nag Ashwin. Right from the announcement of this movie, it has been the talk of the town. It is based on actress Savithri’s life in 1950s and 60s, who ruled the film industries of Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Keerthy Suresh is playing the titular role. Dulquer Salmaan is portraying the role of Gemini Ganesan.

Samantha Akkineni is playing a reporter named Madhuravani (B.A Gold Medal) and Vijay Devarakonda is paired opposite her. Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey is playing the role of Jamuna, actress Savithri’s friend. Naga Chaithanya is playing the role of his grandfather Nageshwar Rao and Anushka Shetty will be seen as actress Bhanumathi. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema are jointly producing the movie.

MIckey J. Meyer is composing the music and Dani Sanchez-Lopez is handling the cinematography. The teaser and songs of the movie have received positive reviews from critics and fans. Nadigaiyar Thilagam was supposed to release on May 9th along with its Telugu version. However, it has been postponed to May 11th and only the Telugu version will hit the screens on May 9th.
