Vikram next movie update: The shooting of actor Vikram’s Saamy Square (Saamy 2) is moving at a brisk pace. This is the sequel to his 2003 blockbuster Saamy in which he played an aggressive cop alongside Trisha and Kota Srinivasa Rao. Vikram is joining hands with director Hari after a gap of 15 years.
Shooting for this sequel began in late January and the film’s crew shot in various locations including Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Noida, Nainital and Kathmandu. Almost 80 percent of the shooting is over as of now. The team is waiting for the strike to be called off so that they can continue their shooting. Also, the movie is expected to release around Ramzan. Official release date will be announced soon.
Along with Vikram, Keerthy Suresh, Bobby Simha, Prabhu and Soori are cast in the movie. Shibu Thameens is bankrolling the movie under his Thameens Productions, while cinematography is handled by Priyan and A. Venkatesh. Editing is done by V.T. Vijayan and music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. This movie came into the limelight when the leading lady of the movie Trisha walked out in October stating creative differences. She confirmed this news through a tweet and a controversy prevailed regarding the rescheduling of the dates.
Recently, the makers recreated the set of a street in Nellai Nagar, where the song ‘Tirunelveli Halwa’ and a few fight sequences were shot for the prequel. This set was used to shoot some crucial stunt scenes in the movie. A few posters from the movie were leaked online which revealed the storyline of the movie. According to official sources, the story follows the life of Aarusaamy and his son 29 years later. After the death anniversary of Aarusaamy, his son will face the wrath of Perumal Pichai’s sons. Bobby Simha is playing the antagonist in the movie.
Apart from Saamy Square, Vikram is also busy shooting for Dhruva Natchathiram directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Keep following this space for more news on Vikram’s next movie.
