Actor Narain, who was last seen in Malayalam movie Adam Joan, has reportedly joined the team of an upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual, which is coincidentally Samantha’s next movie. This movie is a remake of the Kannada superhit U-Turn. The original movie had Shraddha Srinath (Vikram Vedha fame), Radhika Chetan and Dileep Raj in the lead roles. The story follows a young journalist intern who tries to uncover the truth behind the mysterious deaths happening in a flyover. The movie had lots of twists and turns and became a huge hit.
Though the makers of this bilingual have not made any official announcement, sources say that Narain would play an important role in the movie. This will be Narain’s debut in Telugu, if the news is confirmed. The remake is directed by Pawan Kumar who directed the original and has Samantha Akkineni playing the lead role. Rahul Ravindran, Bhumika Chawla and Aadhi Pinisetty will also be seen in crucial roles in the movie. Since the original movie was a runaway success, expectations are very high for this remake.
Narain, who is well-known for his Tamil movies Chithiram Pesudhadhi and Anjathe, is currently busy shooting for his next Tamil movie titled Othaikku Othai. This movie is directed by Barnesh and has Atharvaa and Sri Divya in the lead roles. Justin Prabhakaran is composing music for this movie. Narain is also a part of the Malayalam movie Odiyan, in which he will be sharing screen space with Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj.
U-Turn was also remade in Malayalam as Careful. It was directed by V.K. Prakash and had Sandhya Raju, Vijay Babu, Saiju Kurup and Parvathy Nambiar in the lead roles. Though the remake didn’t live up to the original, it received good reviews from few critics.
