The teaser of the upcoming Tamil film Taramani, which was released on Thursday, shows a man-woman relationship in an urban setting from a woman’s perspective. The nearly one-and-a-half minute trailer makes you uncomfortable from the start — simply in the manner in which the men speak about women and vis-a-versa.
The teaser starts off with a saying from the Thirukkural. It moves onto a facetime conversation starring Anjali which is funny, realistic and at the same time, questions the ways of the people of this modern era. The teaser might seem to target the IT industry and it’s corporate ways in particular, especially because of it’s title which is the IT hub of Chennai.
The second teaser of ‘Katradhu Tamizh’ fame director Ram’s next film titled as ‘Taramani’ has been released. Andrea and newcomer Vasanth Ravi play the lead roles in the film which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Taramani is produced by J.Sathish Kumar. It is said that the film will be on love and relationships in IT field and the interesting aspect is that Andrea will sport three different looks in the film.
Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is a big plus. The beauty of the teaser lies in it’s poetic narrative and refrain from being preachy for which major credits have to be given to Yuvan and editor Sreekar Prasad. Na.Muthukumar’s lyrics will be something to look forward to in the album. Camera work by Theni Eshwar is also commendable.
