Thangalaan Chiyaan Vikram

Thangalaan (The son of gold) is Chiyaan Vikram 61st movie. This movie is directed by Pa Renjith and produced by Jyothi Deshpande. The cast includes Vikram, Malavika Menon, Pasupathy, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. G V Prakash Kumar composed the music for this film. Initially, the movie was said to be released on January 26, Republic Day. However, it was postponed for several reasons. Then, it was announced to be released on April 14 this year, but it was postponed because of the Loksabha elections.

The film is shot in most places, including Chennai, Madurai, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The story is set during the time of British rule in India. Thangalaan, a tribal leader full of courage and no fear, goes against the Britishers who try to grab his land for gold mining. Initially, Rashmika Mandhana was set to act in a lead female role, but because of scheduling conflicts, she was later replaced by Malavika Mohan.

The Thangalaan movie is based on an actual incident during British rule. During the press meeting, Vikram gave an emotional speech about the film, their effort to bring back the lives of people before us, and their sufferings during British rule. He said there were no sets; they acted barefoot in the real dry land and applied wet mud all over their bodies in the early morning cold weather. It was terrific, he said.

In the teaser released last October, Vikram tears a snake in two pieces with his bare hand, showcasing the life of tribal people and their traditions. Greed for their gold leads to big wars, losses, and suffering. Finally, Vikram standing with a sword dripping blood is seen with the caption Rise of the Son of Gold. I hope it does not disappoint the audience.
