Theri Bagged More Award in IIFA Utsavam 2017

The blockbuster movie Theri received grabbed more awards in the IIFA Utsavam 2017 which is held in Hyderabad on 28 and 29 March.

It was a two day event which recognizes the best and talents that unites the four South Indian film industries – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The first day of the event was dedicated to Tamil and Malayalam movies. In the Tamil movie award recognition the Vijay and Atlee box office hit Theri movie bagged more awards.

Theri, the action crime film was directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banners of V. Creations. The film stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson in the lead roles while Mahendran played the baddie role.

Prabhu, Raadhika Sarathkumar and baby Nainika was also starring in the film in significant roles. The music of the film was scored by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film received three awards under the below categories

  • Best Director – Atlee for the film Theri
  • Best Supporting Actress – Baby Nainika for the film Theri
  • Best villain – Mahendran for the film Theri.
