Kaththi Interesting Facts

Kaththi was the debut production for Lyca productions in Kollywood.

kaththi didn't contain smoking or a drinking scenes ,So Smoking & Drinking caution not used in Kaththi title card.

This film is the debut Tamil film of Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. He had also dubbed for the film in his own voice.

This film collected 100 crores in just 12 days, thus making it the fourth Tamil film to cross 100 crores at the box office after Rajinikanth's "Endhiran" and "Sivaji" as well as the lead actor Vijay's "Thuppakki". Coincidentally, "Thuppakki" was also directed by AR Murugadoss, the director of "Kaththi".

The lyricist and singer of the song "Pakkam Vanthu", Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi, makes a cameo appearance in the same song in the movie.

Kaththi is the second collaboration of actor Vijay and director AR Murugadoss. It is to be noted that the duo had collaborated with each other in the 2012 blockbuster Thuppakki.

This film was not heavily promoted and hyped until some controversies started to surround it. The producer, Subhaskaran Allirajah was believed to be linked with the Sri Lankan president, Mahindra Rajapaksa. The producer, however denied it and the problem was resolved when the producer decided to remove his name off the promos and the film.

In one of the scenes in the film, the director AR Murugadoss makes a cameo appearance.

The fight scenes in kaththi, especially the coin fight is banned in countries like malaysia due to its violence

A remake of this film is in progress.

This is the first collabration vijay aniruth

The film was remade into Telugu as Khaidi No. 150 (2017), starring Chiranjeevi.

Kaththi was the first tamil movie to enter elite 100 crore club with a single language release alone.
