During the shooting at Neyveli Lignite Corporation, actor Vijay took a selfie with his fans, who all gathered at Neyveli to see him, and posted it in his Twitter page.

Kollywood stars Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi work together for the first time in this film.

Master is the first pan-Indian release for actor Vijay and it released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the release of the film was postponed from 9 April 2020 to 13 January 2021. This means that 2020 is the only year without the release of a Vijay film since the start of his adult career in 1992.

After a period of six years, actor Vijay and music composer Anirudh work together in this film.

The satellite rights and digital rights of this film were sold to Sun TV and Amazon Prime Video respectively, for a record price.

Gouri G Kishan, who plays Savitha, made her debut in 96 (2018) which also starred Vijay Sethupathi. They didn't share any scenes together in that film as well..

In a scene, Vijay Sethupathi mentions to a lorry driver that the music director Anirudh Ravichander (of this film too) has made a new song and let's listen to it.

During its release, Master was the highest-grossing film of 2021 at one point. It set a new record as the first Indian film to reach the #1 spot at the global box office.

This is the debut film for the production company.

Music Director Anirudh has sampled songs from the previous films of the actors he works with - the first instance was seen in Petta(2019), where he sampled Rajinikanth's iconic Annamalai Background score in the song 'Marana Mass'. He repeated the same in Master, sampling a song from the 2004 Blockbuster Ghilli, also starring Vijay, where he played a Kabaddi player. Anirudh also sampled the title song from Vikram(1984) for the teaser of Lokesh Kanagaraj's next film, Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan

Malavika Mohanan who plays the heroine was born in 1993 a year after Joseph Vijay's first film as an adult Naalaiya Theerpu (1992) was released.

This is director Lokesh Kanagaraj's third movie.

Master album has collectively crossed 1500M views on tiktok.

This is actor Vijay's first film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and team.

In an interview with Film Companion South, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed that the character Selvam mentioned as JD's (Vijay) professor is a nod to the professor character played by Kamal in Nammavar.

The film premiered on Amazon Prime just after 16 days of its theatrical release. The decision made by the producer was not happily accepted by the theatre owners of Tamilnadu. The film premiered on January 29 along with its dubbed Telugu version as well as an additional Malayalam dubbed version which was not released in theatres.

Master is the first film for Vijay which simultaneously released in Hindi under the title "Vijay The Master".

This is the first time actor Vijay has acted as a professor.

Master is the spiritual sequel to Nammavar (1994), directed by K.S. Sethumadhavan and starring Kamal Haasan.

Actor Vijay also known as Thalapathy Vijay started his career in Tamil cinema in 1984 as a child artist, then seen commonly in Vijayakanth and Rajinikanth movies which his father director S.A. Chandrasekhar usually directs during his prime days. Rasigan 1994 is the career first blockbuster for actor Vijay and Master is the last one. His latest movies Beast and Varisu are not blockbusters.
